- I grew up on the northern New South Wales coast in the town of Angourie (Wooloweyah actually...about 200 metres around the corner from angas) I guess Angourie has always had a place in surfings history (from the days of morning of the earth) so it's inevitable that you're going to surf if you're fortunate enough to grow up in Angourie. With many influences ranging from Nat Young, David "baddy" Trelor, Mark Richards,loads of underground local rippers and of course a bunch of first class shapers such as Greg Webber,Rodney Dahlberg, Albert Fox, Thorton Fallander, Cal Liddle, Paul Mitchell and basically a whole community that loves to surf and has a general love of the ocean.... so for me there was never any shortage of people to draw inpiration from or to chat with about ideas and designs which I can definitley say has helped me to become the shaper and designer that I am today... My main focus is on high performance short boards but have enjoyed making stand up paddle boards and alaia's and am currently delving into hollow wooden boards (crazy if I didnt with my name). So that's me in a nutshell...keep an eye out for what's going on in the not too distant future - Woody !
